Yin yoga

Yin yoga is often found by those seeking a wonderfully relaxing form of yoga. And rightly so, because this form of yoga really relaxes you. The postures in yin yoga are all from sitting or lying on the mat. Characteristic of yin yoga is that these postures are held for a longer period of time. This way your body gets the chance to really 'sink' into the posture and thus relax not only the muscle tissue but also the deeper connective tissue. Although the postures can sometimes be quite challenging, you will notice that you can lower and lower during the posture by relaxing your body. You literally feel your body release and soften. This makes your body flexible and reduces pain that gets stuck in your body as a result of stress. You will experience that the energy gets all the space to flow again. This makes you feel better about yourself, both physically and mentally.

Yin yoga class

Like all yoga classes, the yin yoga classes also start with a short meditation or breathing exercise. This is often necessary to land in the quiet yoga room from the busy day. With this you give the go-ahead for a moment for yourself and give yourself the peace to experience relaxation. This is followed by various postures, often connected to each other within a theme. For example, a lesson can be aimed at a certain area in your body such as shoulders and neck, lower back, etc. You can also focus on an internal area such as the digestive organs.

The postures themselves are not always very comfortable. This is necessary to really find that deeper relaxation in the connective tissue. But Yin yoga wouldn't be Yin yoga if you couldn't make yourself as comfortable as possible with pillows, blankets and other aids. Because only then do you get the feeling that you can let go and literally sink into the soft cushions that support you. When you are completely relaxed in a position, it can sometimes be difficult to activate your muscles again to get out of this position. That is why you can give your body a chance to recover after each posture before moving on to the next posture. This can be done, for example, with a child's pose, or by simply lying down for a while. The class ends with a wonderful final relaxation.

For whom

Yin yoga is ideal for people who are looking for more peace and relaxation in their body. Whether that's because you have a busy life and want to plan a conscious moment of rest, because you want to help your body recover after illness, surgery or pregnancy, or because you just want to be a little more flexible in your body. The class is suitable for both experienced yogi and beginners. You adjust all postures to your possibilities, you determine the intensity yourself. You don't have to be flexible or sporty. This makes this yoga form very widely accessible.

Yogamaterials

During the yin yoga classes you use different materials. All this material is available with us, but if you have something that you like to use, feel free to bring it with you. The basis is of course the yoga mat. On this mat we sit and lie in the yin postures. We also use a meditation cushion. This is a round cushion. You can use this to sit on during meditation, but we also use it to support the different postures. We also have the yoga bolsters. These are elongated round cushions that perfectly help support your body in various postures. All our meditation cushions and yoga bolsters are made of high quality organic cotton and natural filling for pleasant use.

We also use blocks and tires for support or intensification. Finally, we have blankets. You can roll it up and use it as a support, or of course wrap it around you to make yourself comfortable. During the final relaxation it is wonderful to snuggle under such a blanket. We give all our members the chance to order their own yogamaterials with great discount through our whole-supplier.
